How We Work
We reject the word "manufacturing." At Exclusive Tanzanite, jewelry is not manufactured — it is made. Every piece passes through human hands at every stage. This is not sentiment. It is the only way to achieve what we insist on achieving.
Design
Every piece begins as a pencil sketch, then moves to the computer screen. The sketch is a promise; the CAD is its confirmation. Both must meet our exacting standards before creation begins.
Stone Sourcing
We maintain direct relationships with mines and cutters in Tanzania, ensuring every stone is personally inspected. Many stones are rejected to uphold our standards; we never buy what we haven’t seen.
Wax Carving & Casting
The hand-carved wax model is the final check before metal. It is carefully compared to the design and the stone, then cast in investment plaster before the metal is poured.
Setting
Stone setting is the most demanding and least forgiving of all jewelers’ skills. Our setters train for a minimum of two years before earning the privilege to set stones under our name. Even a fractionally misaligned claw can alter how a gem catches the light; we know this, and we act with precision
Finishing
All polishing, brushing, and finishing is done by hand. Machine polishing cannot distinguish surfaces meant to be bright from those meant to be matte. Our finishers take the time to perfect every square millimetre of every piece.
Quality Review
Every finished piece is inspected under 10× magnification by a senior craftsperson who did not make it. Any piece that fails to meet our exacting specifications is returned to the bench. There is no “good enough,” there is only perfection by our standards.
